How to Write Scientific Notation

Scientific notation writes a number as a coefficient from 1 up to (but not including) 10, times a power of ten. Count how many places the decimal point moves: left makes the exponent positive, right makes it negative.

Engineering notation: exponent a multiple of 3 (kilo, mega, milli, micro)
