How to Convert Frequency Units

One hertz is one cycle per second. One revolution per minute is 1/60 Hz, and one cycle is 2π radians.

Hz = rpm ÷ 60   rad/s = rpm × 2π ÷ 60   MHz = GHz × 1,000

Tips

A 4-pole motor on 60 Hz power runs at 1,800 rpm synchronous, which is 30 Hz of shaft rotation. For period (time per cycle), take 1 ÷ frequency.
