How to Convert Data Storage Units
There are two systems. Decimal (SI) units step by 1,000: 1 GB = 1,000,000,000 bytes, which is what drive makers use. Binary (IEC) units step by 1,024: 1 GiB = 1,073,741,824 bytes, which is what Windows reports but labels "GB".

Tips
That's why a new 1 TB drive shows up as about 931 "GB" in Windows: 10¹² ÷ 1024³ = 931.32 GiB. macOS uses decimal units and shows 1 TB.
